Answers to the questions we’re asked most.

Your account

How do I create an account?

With your email address (we send you a code) or with your Google account. You must be at least 15.

How do I change my first name, username or photo?

On your profile, tap Edit profile (go there).

How do I get a copy of my information?

In settings, Download my information (go there): you receive a file, to download within 7 days.

How do I delete my account?

You can access your account: sign in, then Settings → Take a break or leave → Delete my account (delete my account) and confirm with the code sent by email. You have 90 days to change your mind; then everything is erased, as the privacy policy explains. You can also just pause your account.

You can no longer access your account: ask for deletion here. You give your account’s email address, enter the code we send there, and your request goes to our team. It schedules the deletion within 30 days; you then have 90 days to change your mind.

Subjects and expressions

What is a Subject?

A question, an idea, a photo (up to 35 images) or a link to a video or an article: what you want others’ views on. Share it by link, wherever you like.

Who reads what I write?

Nobody reads your expression as written. People who answered the same Subject discover a summary in the Mirror, without your name. An expression is shown to someone only if you both agree to discover each other.

What is a public Subject?

A public Subject is visible to everyone, even without an account. A Subject shared by link is visible only to people who have the link.

Can I remove an expression?

Yes, at any time: it is deleted and leaves the Mirror at the next update.

The Mirror and your Portrait

What is the Mirror?

The main ways of seeing on a Subject, built from what everyone wrote. They are worded with the help of AI, without anyone’s name.

Why can’t I see the Mirror yet?

It appears once enough people have answered. Share the Subject so it fills up faster: you’ll be notified.

What is my Portrait?

The themes that keep coming back in the expressions you chose to include. Only you can see it, and you can remove an expression whenever you want.

Resonances

What is a Resonance?

Someone who had something to say on the same Subjects as you. You may agree or not at all: what matters is that the subject mattered to both of you. You discover each other only if you both want to.

Can I turn Resonances off?

Yes, with the switch in settings. You can turn it back on whenever you want.

What about 15 to 17 year-olds?

Resonances only suggest people aged 15 to 17, and your profile can never be found by others.

KiftMe Plus

What does KiftMe Plus add?

Deeper readings of the Mirror (by age, by country…), your Portrait history and a more detailed analysis. Everything else in KiftMe is free. Plus is for adults only.

How do I cancel?

On the web, from the KiftMe Plus page. In the app, in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the paid month.

Can I change my mind after paying?

Yes, within 14 days: you only pay for the days used. The KiftMe Plus terms give the details.

Safety

How do I report a Subject, a profile or a message?

With the Report menu, on the Subject, profile or message. The person reported never knows who reported them. The KiftMe Rules say what is not allowed.

How do I block someone?

From their profile or your conversation, Block. You no longer see each other. Your blocks are in settings (go there).
